Enjoy the convenience and privacy of scheduling a face to face telemedicine visit and not having to wait in the doctor’s office!  Powered by  IP video talk

Broward Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists  are now able to offer telemedicine sessions for our follow-up visits.  Visits are face to face using your phone or laptop with camera.  The session is encrypted using a HIPAA compliant end to end encryption.  We will chart the  telemedicine visit to your electronic medical record.  This can be accessed by you remotely.  Request for refills of prescriptions and orders for new CPAP masks/ CPAP machines can be performed at the time of the telemedicine visit.

Who qualifies for a telemedicine visit?

You must be a follow-up patient and not a new patient.  New patients will still need to be seen in our office.

Telemedicine appointments are best for following up on lab results, for renewal of non scheduled prescriptions and for CPAP follow ups.

Do not use the telemedicine service if you wish to use your medical insurance to cover the visit, are a new patient, require a physical examination or Dr. Hull has no access to diagnostic imaging you may need reviewed.

Does Medicare or my Health care insurance cover these visits?

Medicare guidelines currently only support Telemedicine for rural areas and Telemedicine Medicare sessions are not covered.  Medicare regulations also forbid us to bill you directly for these sessions.  These medicare regulations may change in the future as telemedicine becomes more widespread.

For our HMO and PPO patients telemedicine visits are considered a not covered benefit and we cannot bill your insurance for the visit.  We are thus offering the telemedicine session outside your insurance and will bill you directly for this service.

How much do telemedicine visits cost?

We cover the cost of the visit by billing you directly using a credit card.  Billing occurs prior to your session.  Receipts will be emailed to you.

Our current telemedicine visit  for a session (up to 20 minutes) is $65 with the Nurse Practitioner or  $125 for Dr. Hull.  Cancellation fees if you cancel the visit within 24 hours of the scheduled session can be imposed.  In the rare event that the Nurse Practitioner or Dr. Hull have to cancel the telemedicine visit you will be notified and can either reschedule the visit or be reimbursed.
